Bill: National Identity and Preparedness Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Free Lodamun
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2423
Description[?]:
This term would be limited to only 6 months immediately after high school or college and people would have the option of any branch of government service. This term is staggered over the year, so as to keep the military at a consistant population level. The only reason the military pays more is hazard pay. This would bolster a sense of national identity, provide on the job experience for young adults coming out of high school or a higher education institution and better prepare our military in the event of an attack. We can muster forces far more quickly with basic being completed early, then a few week refresher in the event of a draft. This is a sensible notion for this nation if one considers the Deltarian Occupation. |

From | Democrats | To | Debating the National Identity and Preparedness Act | Message | There are no benefits here, it doesn't improve our armed forces, it provides no benefit to the concript, and it is a waste of money. |

From | The Unified Lodamun Party | To | Debating the National Identity and Preparedness Act | Message | I'm not really a fan of this anyhow, but six months is a bad idea unless you are going to break that six months up in the calendar year, meaning that you would have half of the graduates do their service immediately upon graduation, and the other half in the second half of the calendor school year. Otherwise our armed forces will be drastically cut come december every year, and any country that wanted to attack us would only have to do so during Christmas to avoid a way with the majority of our armed forces. |
