Message | The merits of allowing child labour has been argued during the previous bill to legalise it. Banning child labour does not stop it, just forces employers to keep it secret, where they are more likely to make children do danferous or strenuous work. Whereas legalising it with additional regulation allows us to stop children doing dangerous work, as well as ensuring they recieve a fair wage. |

Message | Jeeze is that always your excuse? Don't try to enforce it because its still gonna happen, that get very old, of course its still gonna happen, but the government illegalizing it will cut down tremendously on it and then other government officials will help root the rest out, but there's always gonna be some out there you don't have tobe a brain surgeon to figure that out. |

Message | Excuse? Its a valid point, and the reason we legalised it in the first place. We seem not to have worked out quite as much as you, but we did manage to work out this much. Child labour is a reality, whether we approve of it or not. If we bury our heads in the sand and illegalise it, employers are going to feel free to make children do dangerous and strenuous work, and pay them terrible wages, since they are already breaking the law by employing them. However if we legalise it we can set up regulations to stop employers using children in dangerous and strenuous work, as well as ensuring they get a fair wage (which also means the children can afford to work less, since child labour is a symptom of poverty). This means we can focus law enforcement on those employers who use children in the worst types of job, which would be illegal under the current law. Hence, children are kept safer, they are able to earn more and therefore work less, and, as an added bonus, we dont have to send as many employers to jail, saving the taxpayer money. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
