Bill: Resignation of Durga!
Details
Submitted by[?]: Radical Nationalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2419
Description[?]:
We call for the immediate resignation of Durga who had people falsely imprisoned under laws that she invented to try make the NP look bad. The Nationalist Party Quote the following: "Police also arrested a member of November City's council who called muslims "sand people." The specific charge is violating Lodamun's freedom of religious expression law which forbids establishing religion. "The council required a legitamate reason to vote against building a mosque. The fact that the people gathering there would be muslim is not enough, that violates the law." said Durga." Now that implies to me that our councillor was arrested on 2 different laws that dont exist in Lodamun or The URP have all been taking drugs before talking to the media. Inventing false laws to have opposition officials arrested goes against our democracy and freedoms that we enjoy in Lodamun. We feel that the URP have now crossed the line, first it was calling for our leaders murder and now this the arrest of innocent politicians. |

Message | Inciting violence, illegal discrimination based on religion, hate speech (which we wil argue is banned under the slander statute). These are all crimes. |

Message | Slander = words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another aspersion: an abusive attack on a person's character or good name defame: charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone; "The journalists have defamed me!" "The article in the paper sullied my reputation" Also our law on slander says that a INDIVIDUAL may sue over malicious false hoods spoken about them. As nothing was said about an individual but on a group of people then no offence was commited. Also the law does not state that a person may be detained and arrested only that the injured party may sue. Your argument is flawed, otherwise the Nationalist Party could sue the URP after you calling us things such as tyrants and nazis. |

Message | OOC: Well, let's have a trial then. Have a nuetral party judiciate, say the LDP. urp makes an opening statement, NP makes his, urp rebuts, np rebuts then LDP convicts or acquits. we could have it done by tomorrow and then you both make a forum post about your party's reactions. Sound good? I suppose we should ask the LDP, but he seems like an easygoing guy. And I can't stress enough how the outcome should be decided by who makes the best arguement with an emphasis on existing law. The more convincing, the better. |

Message | Well his responce was "The state is me" that shows how convincing his argument is against mine who used the law to defend myself. Also I think the result of this poll will speak volumes. |
