Bill: A New Constitution for a Strong Likatonia
Details
Submitted by[?]: Söhne der Freiheit
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2092
Description[?]:
This constitutional amendment will restore prestige to Likatonia. It will restore the monarchy of old, and revive Likatonian culture. It will remove corruption from the legislature by reducing the seats and therefore reducing career politicians and other unsavory aspects of elected governments, such as bribery by unions and the mafia. We believe it will give Likatonia a strong, assertive government. We propose a restoration of the House of Bandorra to prominence in the government. The King (or Queen) will become our Head of State, and be invested with minimal power. We propose a proportional legislature. 1 representative to every 250,000 citizens. Currently, this works out to 210 representatives. I also propose renaming this new legislative body to the Senate to reflect change. The last act of the National Council will be to transfer power to the Senate and dissolve the National Council. A corresponding change of the name of the Head of Government to Consul will take place. Following these changes the nation will be renamed to the Kingdom of Likatonia. |

Message | I never really liked the sound of National Council. It's like naming your child: Child. I think the name Senate works because it's more of a symbolic name, whereas National Council is a name that describes itself. |

Message | I hope your proposal is open for suggestions? article 1: wasn't the CCU the party who shouted "long live the republic?", with article 1 you're turning Likatonia into a constitutional monarchy. However, we will not oppose this. I don't really like article 2 Article 3 is a logical term for a monarchy I like article 4 and 5 |

Message | We do not believe in any form of monarchy- as it take us even further from the principle of individual rights, besides instituting another potential source of tryanny over men. We do however, support the otherr reforms that have been proposed. |

Message | I really don't like articles 2 and 3, but number 1 and 5 are the key articles here. Moving the Structure of the Executive branch into one hand will in my opinion increase the effectivness of imposing the law. Also decreasing the number of seats might improve the work of National Council / Senate. I vote Yes. |
