Message | Lower the Luxory Goods down 2% as request, but place a 2% tax on Essential goods. The Luxory taxes become availible, and a tax is gained from the additional goods. This not only encourages the Luxory taxes, but the simple small amount applied towards the Essential Goods will provide a small amount of funds into the coffers. |

Message | We're not in favour of a tax on essential goods, nor do we see the need for extra money. Further IB's bill on this topic was to give back to the people what the government doesn't require. |

Message | it is a minor amount yes. But designed as a comprimise between the two sides. Note the word...COMPRIMISE. Give both sides what they want. The RPP believe a tax should still be placed on Essential goods. At a marginal 2%, the minor amount that this will provide, well, a government can never have enough money can it. Programs such as the phone service for the poor and the like can be covered by this simple tax. The Government doesn't REQUIRE any more than the support that the people provide to it. That support is based off of what they give to the politicians, and they do with it in return. But like any other business, the government does require an income to function. 2% is nominal, gives the little boost of income, and will level out the 13% of the Luxory tax. |
