Message | The SLP is dismayed that libraries are banned in Deltaria! Something must be done. We have resolved to propose a bill that will establish a system of public libraries in Deltaria. We are, however, not fixed upon the way that these public libraries should be funded. We can see the merits of both centralised funding and a decentralised system, but will gladly hear the preferences of the parties so as to get a proposal that can carry a majority in the House. |
Date | 17:10:28, August 05, 2005 CET | From | Deltarian Labor Party | To | Debating the Public Libraries Act |
Message | Public libraries should be funded by taxation. They are, after all, universally accessible, they should be universally maintained as well. |

Message | We are in agreement in that regard, however we there can be funding on a national level, on a purely local level, or the government can choose to fund local governments to establish libraries. |

Message | You have proposed that it be funded by the national government, the national government should retain control if it is spending Republic funds. |
