Bill: Family Planning Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: New Democratic Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2422
Description[?]:
Since we have recently voted down the Communist Party's Abortion Bill, which would have legalized abortion through "the entire course of the pregnancy" (the NDP voted 'no') we feel that we must make more ethical forms of family planning available to our citizens. Regardless of your moral stance, if you feel that the practice of abortion should be curbed (as the NDP does) then you must be willing to offer other means of responsible family planning. We are certain that providing inexpensive contraceptives will reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy on subsidising contraception.
Old value:: The government does not supply free or discounted contraceptives.
Current: The government offers free contraceptives in pharmacies and public toilets.
Proposed: The government subsidises a considerable discount for contraceptives.
