Bill: Positive Discrimination Repeal
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal-Progressive Union
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2093
Description[?]:
We feel that the government is overstepping it's power in it's attempt to ensure equality by regulating the hiring practices of private companies. We feel it is not in the governments power first, to decide who is being discriminated against, and second making that ambigious positive discrimination the reason to decide who is hired or who is not. The government must remain out of regulating the hiring process of employees of private companies. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Positive discrimination.
Old value:: No form of positive discrimination is permitted.
Current: No form of positive discrimination is permitted.
Proposed: The government does not regulate hiring policies.

Message | Positive discrimination still discriminates against a particular group or groups, and this is unacceptable. We cannot accept this change. |

Message | I am actually repealing positive discrimination due to that fact, and the fact that the governement is in no buisness to tell companies who to hire. This eliminates positive discrimination. |

Message | I think the government should tell companies this. Would it be acceptable for the government not to interfere in a company which recruits only white people, for example? |

Message | If it was a private company then we shouldn't dictate who they should hire. It's not right but they can hire who they wish. So you are basically a opposed to the current law because you think the government should correct the positve discrimination, in this case hiring only white people, whcih would violate the purpose of the law anyway. |

Message | If you accept that it wouldn't be right for a company to hire only whites, - then how can you propose that we allow this kind of thing to take place? It is the duty of the government to prevent discrimination taking place, and work to create a society based on equality, understanding and acceptance. We in the hot pants don't support. |
