Voting deadline: July 2422

The Government spends a lot in recruiting, training and giving equipment to each one of our soldiers. Yet, unless we are at war, they just sit and do nothing. Why dont we make them back up the police, reducing crime significantly?

MessageGreat idea, let's send in the soldiers to shoot all the petty crooks. All those loitering youths and careless litterers. Yes, we must execute those enemies of our nation.

MessageThe military should not aid the civilian force unless absolutely necessary. If it is used too much, the citizenary may feel that the military is given too much leeway to do as they will.

MessageTrabajo y Libertad: you see, in this country the military is under civilian control. So, making them aid the police doesnt mean shooting and killing everyone. You can order them what to do, you know. It just means more numbers in the security forces.

MessageWell really the military is under government control and the government is under civilian control, soldiers and generals are not elected. But that's not the point.

The police are trained in policing. The army is trained in warfare. If you want I could propose a new budget that cuts military spending in order to increase police spending.

MessageWell, that would be a good thing to do if the crime levels were high. But I dont think that this game has that kind of features.

MessageTrue it doesn't. Based on that we could really cut the whole budget and be fine. But really what we'd propose is cutting both military and police spending in order to free up money for education, housing, healthcare and social services.

This is exactly why we very strongly support this bill. It's a shame Trabajo y Libertad was joking. We thought for a moment there that they finally came to their senses.
