Message | This is most bizarre. Surely such sham marriages used to get past immigration laws are going to happen within Lodamun, rather than outside. We see this as an attack on marriage, and therefore cannot support this Bill. |
Date | 16:58:09, July 04, 2007 CET | From | Radical Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Foreign marriage Act! |
Message | If a person has already got citizenship of Lodamun they would of already passed immigration laws therfor they would not need to get pass the immigration laws through marriage. Your argument is flawed and this will will actually defend marriage and fight the collapse of marriages. |
Date | 21:20:51, July 04, 2007 CET | From | Independent Republican Party | To | Debating the Foreign marriage Act! |
Message | The current law is fine. Foreign marraiges that comply with Lodamun's marraige policy should be recognized. It is a sensible law. |

Message | Marriages can comply, but then they get into the country and they split up. Does anyone have difficulty understanding that? |

Message | :o wow the URP have voted yes. |
Date | 03:47:10, July 05, 2007 CET | From | United Republics Party | To | Debating the Foreign marriage Act! |
Message | Actually this bill doesn't matter, Since the government officially has no involvement in marriages at all. The URP feels marriage cannot be used as a factor to determine who can become a citizen or gain permanent status - these are also dealt with under separate laws. The URP seeks the comment of the Justice Minister, Noel de Malhortye, on this issue: Is it legal to consider marriages, all of which are unrecognized, as a criterion for gaining citizenship or permanent residency? |
Date | 12:47:09, July 05, 2007 CET | From | Democrats | To | Debating the Foreign marriage Act! |
Message | NP, your argument is flawed if you seriously believe enough foreign marriages are coming here and then getting divorced, its nonsense. |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
