Message | It's a matter of census, really. We need accurate figures, and that need requires people to register the information needed. |

Message | What business is it of the government how many people of X religion are in our country? We do not operate churches, nor should it or does it influence our decision making in anyway. And a "matter of census" is not a good enough reason to demand this information from individuals. It's like saying "Tell me your PIN number because I'm really curious." |

Message | We're fairly sure that this registration program is different from a census... we support these measures for censustaking, of course, but we believe the registration that current policy entails is much too Big-Brother-esque for our own good. We prefer Little Brother policies: policing your morals like an annoying little twerp :-) |

Message | After careful examination of all available data, we realise that this policy has not only been completely ineffective at pinpointing terrorists, but it has also angered a great deal of our citizens. Therefore we must reverse our original stance on this. ;-) |

Message | "It's like saying 'Tell me your PIN number because I'm really curious.'" See, that's just asinine. What does stating your religion rob from you? Infringement on liberty and privacy? By that same respect you can't be asked race or sex either. Good luck finding accurate figures now. "Well, we'd like to see the religious make-up of this country, but some crazy anarchist is spooked out by it, so no dice" |

Message | It is interesting that you have chosen to ignore the question I posed though, presumably because you have no answer to it. Namely, what business of the government's is it what race, religion, sex or gender I am? Besides, it's all ready been pointed out that this has next to nothing to do with census figures. |

Message | "Namely, what business of the government's is it what race, religion, sex or gender I am? " Census. This bill may have nothing to do with census, but in the end, it has provided just that. IT may not have found any terrorists, but we can no go "Hey, Jildrath has X number of X Religion, how fascinating." or "Look, Dundorfians don't appear to be moving far into the country, hurray!" That's my answer, has been from the beginning, and will remain so. Was that answer really so veiled that you couldn't see it from the beginning that it required you to ask your question. Demographics are important. It's beneficial to know the make-up of your nation. That's the business of the government, that's why there's a census in the first place. Perhaps you need to be less concerned with this "big brother" argument you got going on, and more concerned with increasing the greatness of this nation. |

Message | The people of this nation do not need their government measuring and tabulating them at every turn to make it great. have done so all ready and will continue to do so, with or without us. We serve at their discretion, and at their demand. Or have you forgotten that? Your quizzical curiosity into the social make-up of this nation is clearly not enough to warrant us intruding into people's lives as we have. And fortunately, must of us here realize that. |
