Message"Many of the aspects of the socialist budget were simply idiotic. They spent tens of millions of Crowns on my own ministry, which although very important in terms of formulating policy, has very little need for all of the funding we have been provided. The situation is much the same for the ministry of foreign affairs, which although conducts many of our relations with the international community, has very little need for actual massive funding. These two ministries are purely for administrative purposes, and require funding for only their upkeep and very little else. On the other hand, the socialist budget neglected many important aspects of the government such as Defence, Infrastructure and Transport, Education and Culture, and Trade and Industry. We have increased funding for all of those areas. On the other hand, we have decreased the health budget by a large percentage due to the privatisation of the national health services. While spending the money more wisely, we have also been able to increase the surplus by about 25%, the benefits of which could be seen during the next term of office with tax cuts. This budget should be the beginning of putting us back on the right track fiscally and begin to correct some of the massive imbalances leftover from socialist rule."

Message"The FNR would also like to point out that of our four ministries, only Education and Culture has received a bugdet increase. Our other ministries, including foreign affairs, finance, and agriculture have received budget cuts as part of this comprehensive budgetary overhaul."

Message"I would like to stand behind the Finance Minister's comments in relation to the budget of the ministry of foreign affairs. While it has proven helpful in the extensive renovations of the ministry building, we have simply run out of ways to spend all of the money given to us. Perhaps we simply do not have the decadence that the previous socialist ministers did."
