Message* Captain General HRH Prince Frederick Augustus, Duke of Yodukan, Chief of the Imperial General Staff, jumps to his feet:

Mr Speaker!

I must object to having unwilling civilians who are potentially unpatriotic heathen cowards, thrust into my ranks.

* He storms out to convene the Army Council to counter this, shouting over his shoulder:
I yield the floor!

MessageMr. Speaker,

The record shows that the BCD are pacifists and that is the true reason for their vote. We caution against the continuance of these sorts of policies.

Message* Eruptions of laughter throughout the Defenders, most of whom are wearing their military uniforms, with rows of medals.

Mr Speaker,

This slander will not stick, considering it is directed at one of the parties that represents veterens!

I yield the floor.

(OOC: You pay far too much attention to some of the flawed game mechanics, such as letting it tell you who your allies are and what people stand for. I'm not sure which of my policies qualifies me as a pacifist: maybe excluding queers or women from the armed forces, or possibly my belief in a professional army over conscription. Either way it is flawed logic.)

MessageOOC: The BCD party is right. After all, according to the game, my policy choices are just as religiously motivated as the BCDs, even though my goal is to destroy the link between church and state. The game interprets my policies of attempting to destroy laws dealing with the prohibition or encouragement of things like religious dress or school prayers as religiously motivated. It sees the theocracy/secularism factor as a struggle of atheism and religion rather than true secularism and theocracy. It also seems to interpret compromises as a party's original position. These are inherently flawed mechanics. So, don't place too much faith in the "party positions" markers.

MessageMr. Speaker,

For the reasons of the livelihood of the people, my party prefers to keep the status quo.

I yield the floor.
