The use of drugs does considerable damage to our society: 1 - Irreversible mental and physical damage may even prevent young people from succeeding in their personal goals in life. 2 - Health damage must then be treated by the public healthcare system, spending the taxpayers money on rehabilitation. 3 - People under the effects of drugs is often violent and more inclined to commit crimes (Just check the statistics). 4 - People under the effects of drugs often has a negligent behavior, (even worse than a drunk) which causes a breach in the "Duty of Care", resulting in accidents and regrettable wrong-doings. 5 - Spoiling the younger generations will ultimately decrease our Nation´s Quality of Life. We must use all means at our disposal to get rid of this deadly disease that ruin lifes. |

Message | The bill is about those drug that normaly cause the above-mentionated effects: irreversible damage to health, need of re-habilitation, violence and negligent behavior. It is mostly about chemical / dangerous drugs such as cocaine/crack, heroin and LSD. Alcohol, Tobacco and Cofee would be exempted, since their moderate consumption doesnt have that kind of undesirable results. |
