Message | We should actively protect our environment. It's the only (beside police force etc.) reason why government exist. But it's better if local government manage everything and federal government only function as "night watchman". |
Date | 22:52:10, July 13, 2007 CET | From | Socialist Advancement League | To | Debating the Ecology Bill |
Message | OOC: we don't have a "federal Government"; Kirlawa isn't that big ... Articles 1 and 3 we can agree with, Article 2 is contradicted by Article 3 and Article 4 is useless because it means that local Government election issues based around whether or not cities will or won't expand into green belts, which complete negates the concept of protecting the environment and distracts attention from where other issues could be better dealt with. |
Date | 19:23:48, July 15, 2007 CET | From | Kirlawa Green Party | To | Debating the Ecology Bill |
Message | Our environment is far too important to leave it up to local governments to protect it or not. We have to make sure they act within certain federal laws which protect nature and the well-being of our citizens. |
Date | 10:03:43, July 17, 2007 CET | From | Liberal Democrats | To | Debating the Ecology Bill |
Message | Sure, always big government is better for socialist. Anyway, where would they work if not in government? |
Date | 15:23:28, July 17, 2007 CET | From | Red Star Movement | To | Debating the Ecology Bill |
Message | There is nothing wrong with federalism, but when it risks privatising key industries due to them having the option to do so, we cannot vote in favour of such moves. |
