Bill: Supreme Presidential Cabinet 2428 - 2431

Details

Submitted by[?]: Federal Independent Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2428

Description[?]:

After the General Election of 2428, newly elected Supreme President Michael Bailen announced a new cabinet to work under him throughout his term. Riding on a campaign to victory on the platform of legislative unity between parties and their respective leaders, Supreme President Bailen chose to put aside any form of disputes existing with parties that he knew would attempt to work with him.

"I have put aside any existing feuds for the sake of this country. Bi-partisan measures have been badly neglected recently, and it's time to reopen Solentian government to something it once stood for. Unity. Unity in the strength our people have. This is a mandate from the people that we must work with one another and end all useless bickering."

"In my Presidential Cabinet for my current term, I have included the following parties and their ministers, who I feel can work with me. They are the Social Democratic Party, the Conservative Party, the Independent Party, and the Labor Party. With these parties working together and under me we can hope for a brighter future for Solentia."

"One thing I ran my campaign on was new relations with all parties. This is the first step and we will see if all parties are willing to put old times in the past, where they belong, and open on a clean slate. Let this, an act of unity, be the first for the new records and let it represent all bi-partisanness in this government. Let's do this right, and I'll be there to lead this movement."

"Lastly, I have promised that underneath my executive leadership, I will be the most active Supreme President to date and will even surpass my father's level of activity in his 9 years as the first democratic executive in over a century. I will keep my promise and will work to make this country a better, more progressive, and more unified nation than it has ever been. Thank you all!"

MessageWe oppose, but see no reason to explain our choice, just as the Mr. Bailen has seen no reason to explain his choices.

Debate would be nice, Mr. President.

MessageMiss Taylor, doing something to another just because someone did it to you, or in this case didn't do what you wanted, is rather childish. We at the Independent Party all learned that important lesson in preschool, i believe that would be correct.

Having the experieince of being Supreme President, you should have the wisdom to not display these immature and useless actions. Not only is your party holding up progress in the Senate, it is providing a great disservice to the people by voting no on this proposal. Quite frankly, this action by your party disgusts me and my party. When you are ready to grow up, please address this historical point in Senate history to the current serving Senate body.

We will await that time, if it should ever happen.
