Bill: Heterosexual Adoption Bill 2430

Details

Submitted by[?]: One Nation Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2434

Description[?]:

One Nation is sceptical on the current laws which allows those from same sex couples to adopt children. The dogooders of society continue to scream out against individuals who oppose this, saying it is infringing on the basic human rights - however One Nation is concerned about the right of the child. We live in a predominant heterosexual community, the child will become confused itself.

For the rights of the child members should vote yes. The current laws show the selfishness of individuals in this nation.

MessageThis bill has nothing to do with Homophobia it has everything to do with the rights of the child.

MessageHow about the rights of the child to be raised by loving homosexual parents in a stable environment? Is that any worse than dysfunctional straight parents? No science backs up this bill. It is homophobia dressed-up as "for the interests of the child." How about the interests of GLBT couples to be good parents?

MessageOne Nation has no interest in feel good policies - we have no right to social engineer our society. Science does back up this bill - simple biology backs this up. If same sex couples were to have children it would have been imbeded in our physiological state.

MessageDemocratic Rationalists respectfully differ with ONP on this. The science, in fact, is that children do well in a stable, loving environment, regardless of the sexual orientation of the parents.

MessageAdoption, by any qualified couples, needs to be promoted, not discouraged. I'm sure if you ask the orphans waiting for adoption if they would rather live with a loving same-sex couple or continue to languish in the care of the state, they'd pick the same-sex couple every time.

MessageIt is biologically impossible for a man and a man or a woman and a woman to raise children dont you think then this is for a reason?

Why does our heart pump? To circulate blood around the body - therefore the fact that same sex couples are unable to reproduce has a reason.

MessageThat made absolutely no sense. It isn't ideologically impossible for that to happen, just because that don't have an instinctual love and bond doesn't mean they can't grow to love one another. We don't support or look down upon homosexuality, it's not our place as a government or political party to do that. Many members of our party are religious and thing of homosexuality as a sin, but they don't force their beliefs on others. You don't get that it's not our place to enforce things like this, because it's not even our place as a government to know a person's sexuality

MessageBy that rationale ONP, should we also ban "unnatural" pacemakers? How about artificial hips?

MessageThat is an outragous suggestion however not suprising coming from the rubbish you guys spout off in the MLP. Your argument does not coincide in what we are saying. Artificial hips and pacemakers actually preserve life - it works with the human physiology, sodomy of the same sex does not.

If someone wants to be gay that's their business. The government has no right to know. We can't be the morality police ONP. Take care of your own morality, let others take care of theirs.
