Message | I'd like to see more debate on this issue. My inclination at the outset is to agree with CP, and I tentatively cast my symbolic vote for this bill. But I'm open to be convinced by a compelling argument. |

Message | Marriages offer many benefits that concern the government. Hospital visitation rights, legal custody of children, and inheiritance disputes all need marriages to act as a legal contract. If the person you've loved and been in a relationship with for three decades falls into a coma, hospitals will have every right to deny you visitation rights because you're not "family." If one spouse works and the other stays at home, the one who stays at home will have no legal claim on the income or savings of the one who works should they die. And fathers or stepfathers may be forcibly separated from their children if their wife dies because they had no legal relationship. We urge the MLP and CP to reconsider their support for this bill. |

Message | That's what writing legal documents of consent/ wills are for. And many people who aren't married have children and both have custody ,the father just has to register so. This will keep government out of people's business. |
