| Message | We cannot support this. We do not want unionized perverts teaching this nation's children about something as sacred. School is for learning maths, english, history - not the intricacies sexual intercourse. Honestly, we would prefer that schools run an optional sexual education class in which parents who want their children to be taught these things can allow permission, where parents who do not feel that it is appropriate will by no means be obliged to give permission. But, considering the lack of popularity that the afore mentioned measure has been met with in the past, we can at least settle for the status quo. We certainly do not feel, however, that schools should have an obligation to give sexual education to children, and we think that the word 'obligation', if stated by government, is one that denotes paternalism - the people of this nation do not need to be mothered. They do not need the government to hold their hand and tell them how to raise their child. Let parents make their own decisions as to how best to educate their children in such private matters - this is no affair of the state, and should not be enforced, as such. |
