Message | We should wait and see. The governmental crisis seems to be solved anyway. We have a good working minority government and obviously a government with a solid majority in parliament is in negotiation. Just wait and let them work. Early elections are only the last possibility and mustn't be aspired without well consideration... Pierre Rosenstiehl, "Le Chaim" - Aesthetic Party leader |

Message | "That doesn't matter. Most minority governments are highly unstable and have the stigma of trying to undermine the democratic process, thus diminishing their authority and legitimacy. We will only vote against our own motion if the Liberals reform their government into a majority government. If not, the CDA will feel obliged to restore legitimacy to the government by voting in favour of this motion and allowing the people to speak out." - Charles Henry de Berlaymont, CDA leader. |

Message | Plus the fact that nearly half Parliament has quit. |

Message | OOC: I seriously wonder whether the person behind the Liberal Party of Hutori is Canadian. I have nothing against Canadians, but it might explain his tendency for minority governments, as Canada is the only nation that frequently had a minority government since the Second World War. The Netherlands, where I hail from, had three minority governments since WWII, all of them were caretaker governments, which lasted on average six months, and whose only tasks were introducing a budget and holding fresh elections. This explains my opposition to minority government. IMHO, minority governments are not particularly democratic for they don't have the support from a parliamentary majority, which represents the people. |

Message | ooc.: Well we in Austria had one minority government since WW II, this government lasted only for one and a half years and at the following early elections the party of the minority government (Social Democrats under Kreisky) managed to gain an absolute majority (and continue with the same governmental constellation but with a solid majority)... |

Message | OOC: Such a majority was only obtained after early elections. In relation to the current situation in Hutori, it is no way sure that you and the Liberals will achieve an absolute majority after the elections. |

Message | I am not part of this government. I don't want us and Liberals to gain an absolute majority together... |

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections. |
