Bill: Cabinet Proposal of June 2433

Details

Submitted by[?]: Christian Democratic Alternative

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2434

Description[?]:

Due to the absence of a cabinet proposal from the Liberal Party of Hutori, the Christian Democratic Alternative proposes a Cabinet Proposal in which it is itself included along with the Conservative Union Party and "Le Chaim" - Aesthetic Party.

MessageIt seems fair. We would be willing to work in a cabinet like this.

MessageWe do not doubt CDA's good intentions but this cabinet proposal does not quite represent the election outcome. We, the "Le Chaim" - Aesthetic Party are the only political power that has won seats, all the other parties have lost a few seats. In addition it is quite interesting whom you want to give the office of Head Of Government. Of the three included parties we are the strongest. And we don't want to be part of a government that won't realize our aims, which are I think undoubtfully clear again. We have more in common with the Liberals than with the two highly respected conservative forces of this proposal and even that is no guaranty for constructive cooperation with the Liberals. We are not the same party as we were under Eisenberg, we are original again, we believe in our ideals again...

Pierre Rosenstiehl, party leader

MessageWe hope to have constructive relations with the "Le Chaim" - Aesthetic Party, and respect and highly value their support. We must say however, we did gain seats, and also a percentage of the votes.

There was no need for a Cabinet proposal.

Prime Minister

Message"The CDA submitted this proposal, because the Liberal Party apparently is reluctant to introduce a Cabinet Proposal of their own, perhaps because they don't want to share power with anyone, not even "Le Chaim". We will be pleased when either the Liberals or "Le Chaim" (since these two parties in the eyes of the CDA have the best possibility of forming a stable majority government) take the initiative to form a majority government. Although the CDA will be pleased with a place in government, participation in the government isn't our most important concern. We want a parliamentary majority, which is in itself the reflection of the people's will, to be present in the government."

- Charles Henry de Berlaymont, CDA leader.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
