Message | Theoretically, with a competent police force this measure is unnecessary, and we don't want the millitary getting any funny ideas |

Message | Would the SFP explain why they've voted against this perfectly reasonable proposal? Or is it because they rather the management of natural disasters to be left up to local governments? |

Message | Because a civillian police force and rescue service should be adequate in solving crisis that come our way, leaving the millitary to do its job, which is to defend the nation against foreign attack, not police its citizens |
Date | 11:46:45, July 27, 2007 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the Helping Our Police |
Message | If a hurricane struck my city and wiped out our police force and equipment I wouldn't care if it was police helicopters or Black Hawks taking victims to safety. In a national emergency, it is completely rational to enlist the aid of the military. To not allow that is to not trust the men and women we trust with out national security, which is completely irrational, even for the SFP. |
