Bill: National Service Act 2436

Details

Submitted by[?]: One Nation Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2438

Description[?]:

One Nation proposes the following for debate:

One Nation does not want to force individuals to go to war or to serve a compulsory National Service, One Nation's view is that if an individual is unemployed greater than 12 months after completion of school then they should be made to participate in a National Service program. This will allow individuals self discipline and give back services the taxpayer has provided them during their 12months being unemployed.

It will also motivate individuals to work for money rather than sitting idle doing nothing - this policy will reduce the number of young people from taking drugs - which in effect increases economic productivity and reducing health risk factors.

I urge all to participate in this debate, and after the election will be put to the vote.

Thank you.

MessageThis is not a kin to slavery - with economic growth in hand people have a choice - it is giving people options. They could get a job - 12months leeway, or either do some sort of education or National Service - it is their choice.

One Nation is supportive of giving people options - unlike the MLP who believe in true anarchy and would like to see a society where their is no moral structure. People need structure in their lives - we need workers, we need tax payers - we should no create a society whereby people are sitting idle.

MessageAnarchy? It isn't anarchy. It's freedom. No government enforced moral structure is good because people hjave different ideas of morals. People shouldn't have to work if they don't want to, of course they don't deserve society's support if they choose not to. This isn't slavery, but it's as close as you can get.

People don't need you to tell them what to do, and they don't need structure. People need freedom and this will only take it away.

MessageLike 99% of the ONP's other legislation, this one will ALSO NOT pass. This must be why they remain a distant third behind pro-liberty political parties in parliament like the MLP and CP.

Random fact: The influence a bill has on elections decreases over time, until it eventually is no longer relevant. This can explain shifts in your party's position to the electorate and your visibility.
