Bill: Civil Rights and Internal Stability
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Syndicalist Coalition
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2438
Description[?]:
"The whole inspiration of our life as a nation flows out from the waving folds of this banner." -Author Unknown Article I Our flag represents us as a nation. It represents all that we have fought for, and all that we have accomplished. It represents us at our best. How can we allow this symbol of our nation to be trampled or be lit aflame? People can protest - and desecration of what we as a nation hold sacred is not a requirement of their protest. The mere idea of the desecration of our purest national symbol conveys only the disdain for our people and our history. It serves only to weaken our pride and our resolve. Article II Crime wages in every major city of every country. Understanding this, our government has set out to diminish the amount of crime by instituting a variety of laws - including one currently in action that states that the government is allowed to use surveillance on any citizen without their prior knowledge. It would then stand to reason that, if there is legal cause and justification for it, letters and packages should be able to be searched and be used in court. We must do all we can to, at the very minimum, restrict the methods by which criminals can commit their crimes or get away with crimes committed. |

Message | We support protecting the flag, however we strongly oppose article 2 |

Message | On what grounds? If a suitable argument is provided, and other parties agree, we may amend the bill. What I don't understand about opposition to Article II is that there are already more radical laws in place regarding this kind of government intervention. |

Message | "We will be attempting to change some of those 'radical laws' in the near future. But, we do not support article 2, and will vote no on this bill." -Tom Newton DLDP Spokesman for Justice |

Message | "We are against both of these articles. What does it matter if someone burns our flag? We really don't care, it's just a flag. We would be willing to support article 1 if the penalty would be only a small fine and nothing major. Article two we strongly oppose, our people must have their privacy!" - Rafael Sanz Durán Minister of Justice |

Message | Keeping with our belief of compromise, we will amend the bill to exclude Article II. However, we strongly believe that the descration of our most recognized and sacred national symbol cannot go without punishment. We are, of course, not talking about a major felony charge, but rather have it listed as a misdemeanor classification. There is no need for the flag to be abused. Protestors can protest through other means. We bring this bill on the floor for a vote, and thank all for their support. |

Message | Ofcourse there is no need for that, but they have the right to do that as a symbol of our liberty. Liberty that other parties seem to hate. |
