Message | must i say this whole thing again? this will put too much power into the hands of the workers, who would have full advantage over the employer. Full advantage! that's way too much. the employer needs something to balance. |

Message | (1) Vaguely Remembered Party, there IS indeed a balance for the employer. It is called the SECRET-BALLOT where workers make the decisive judgement to join a Union in the first place. In the 1980s, there was a great move to unionize the workers of Wal-Mart Stores, Ltd. However, Sam Walton gave a BRILLANT ultimatum to the workers: he said if they vote for the union, he will remove the 25% Profit sharing plan from the workers in which some were getting $75,000 checks. (2) If Employers (like what I plan on being in the future) wish that unions do NOT become powerful and constantly strike, they should carry an "EGALITARIAN ETHIC" and pay their workers a just and livable wage, benefits, and other "perks" (profit-sharing). In 1944, Unionization was its PEAK at 44%; that only means that 60 somewhat percent of the workforce voted AGAINST unionization. |
