Bill: Firearms and Weapons Unification Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2439

Description[?]:

The DSP has noticed that there are currently three conflicting laws in act, those being the right to conceal and carry, the right to weapons and the right to own guns.

The laws are currently;
Currently: People must first obtain a permit in order to carry concealed weapons.
Currently: Citizens may own any type of weapon. They may be carried anywhere except as determined by the property owner.
Currently: Individuals are not permitted to own firearms under any circumstances.

Because guns are a type of weapon these laws are conflicting with each other, therefore we propose unifying these conflicting laws so as not to cause confusion and tied up court cases over rights.

MessageThe DSP believes that these laws should be brought together to prevent confusion.

Therefore we propose the making of all firearms legal, but requiring regulation and licensing, determined by what kind it is and the rpevention of psychologically unstable individuals from obtaining them.

However, we have not yet decided to add proposals until we can get a feel for what those proposals should be.

One other thing we have taken note of, nuclear, biological and chemical devices being weapons are technically legal, something that we feel is not a good idea.

MessageThe DSP, after careful consideration, and descent among some in the party, has decided to include a provision on conceal and carry.

However we also feel that discussion on what comprises conceal and carry is required post-vote.
