Bill: Freedom Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Revolutionary Constit'nal United Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2440

Description[?]:

Our founding fathers cared little for the weather and the "environment". Still they would understand if our nation decided by way of the democratic, sovereign process to pass environmental protection acts. But they did not intend for some world consensus to infringe on our sovereignty and dictate what we can or cannot do to the environment.

1) We have the right to choose if our people drive polluting vehicles,
2) We have the right to choose if our people hunt endangered species
3) We have the right to choose what impact our nation is to make on our environment.

The following treaties endanger our sovereignty and our rights to choose how to run our country.

MessageUnfortunately, all these "rights" impinge upon the happiness and liberty of other people. An individual citizen may not care about the environment, but his actions do not only affect himself, but everybody around him, and future generations as well.
