Description[?]:

Currently, the user and ownership of firearms in our country is heavily regulated. We believe this is a well intentioned, but misguided attempt to safeguard our citizens.

Criminals who want guns, will have them. Whether or not they are legal. Those who are already on the wrong side of the law, have little fear of it. And they use these weapons to rob and murder our defenceless citizens.

We believe freely allowing weapons to be owned, is in the best interests of our nation. Police cannot be everywhere at once, and it's a well known fact that 100% of murders are discovered too late to help the victim. Police cannot be in every home, every office, every store, every public place. And it would be an abhorrent invasion of privacy, and waste of public resources, to try to be.

We believe our citizens should be granted the right and means to defend themselves. There are many situations where a firearm can save lives. For instance, against a knife wielding attacker. Brandishing a firearm would scare him off, preventing the loss of any life.

We also believe, that public ownership of firearms has a wider, more long term benefit. Our country enforces a compulsory military service. If readily available firearms are around, people can stay in practise after their military service finishes, and our population can be more ready to defend itself in case the need should arise. It is possibler, for instance, that our country may be invaded, and our military defeated. A population which is accustomed to handling weapons would be mch more prepared to wage a guerilla war, and drive out the invaders. This familiarity with weapons could also save us all in the event of a zombie apocalypse.

We believe it is misguided to allow our citizens to remain weak and defenceless, against the horrors of the world. Give our people the power to defend themselves.

MessageA group that is well-educated and trained in the proper use of firearms is of benefit to society as a whole, for many of the reasons that the Free Humanity Party has described. However, the New Telemon Party feels that the right to carry concealed weapons in a public place must be contingent on licensing. Having a firearm in one's own home for defense is one matter, being able to carry that firearm everywhere essentially deputizes everyone into the police forces. The potential consequences of this require that those who feel that they must carry a concealed weapon fully understand the responsabilites that go along with this.

MessageWe believe the ability to conceal one's weapons is a necessary thing. If all weapons must be visible, it becomes easy to tell who does not have weapons. This allows criminals to simply choose weak, undefended targets.

In addition, a visible weapon can cause social issues, and make those around the wearer feel threatened. This would cause people to choose not to wear their weapons in some cases, diminishing the purpose of having them for self defence.
