Message | No, but in some areas the parents might be very conservative and opposed to it. In some areas, the parents might be more repsonsible and teach the teenagers by themselves. In some areas, teen pregnancy and STD might be more rampant. Etc. |
Date | 14:34:18, August 12, 2005 CET | From | Maroon Party | To | Debating the Local Priorities in Education |
Message | Remember that time and resources students spend on sexual ed. is time and resources not spent on core classes and electives that THEY are interested in. Education is about exploring students' interests, not furthering a political agenda. |
Date | 14:43:39, August 12, 2005 CET | From | Maroon Party | To | Debating the Local Priorities in Education |
Message | And the advantage of local government is that parents who want sex ed can be free move to a district with sex ed, and those who don't can do the same. The more devolved our government is, the more choice the people have. |

Message | The government must make efforts to reduce teenage pregnancy and std's all over the country. |
Date | 15:28:45, August 12, 2005 CET | From | Socialist Freedom Party | To | Debating the Local Priorities in Education |
Message | The education about std is a political agenda? And people should move if they dont like the education in local schools? Thars unrealistic. Sex is no longer a tabu and kids are having sex at a much younger age no matter if their parents are conservative or not. But i guess it better for the kids to try it out first and learn about it later? |
Date | 15:41:13, August 12, 2005 CET | From | Maroon Party | To | Debating the Local Priorities in Education |
Message | What if the parents want to teach the kids by themselves? It's very realistic to move if you don't like the local education--when people are moving into a city for the first time, education is one of the most important factors in them seeing what neighborhood or township they would like to live in. |
Date | 15:41:33, August 12, 2005 CET | From | Maroon Party | To | Debating the Local Priorities in Education |
Message | It's certainly easier to move out of a school district than an entire country. |
