Message | As has always been the case, Malivia should be proud of our commitment to democracy and political accountability. Our frequent elections are, still, the envy of the world! |

Message | Our frequent elections are probably not the envy of the world's politicians, but they are the envy of the citizens. The more opportunities the people have to kick us up the arse, the better. |

Message | we understand both the LibCom and the LevP position, and thus we do not want to extend it out to 6 yrs, but every two yrs as we have stated makes it difficult for the government to run smoothly and remain in the hands of the representatives. The quicker the elections are the more that is left to the unelected bureaucracy. |

Message | LevP members of government certainly haven't had any probems doing their jobs because of the frequent elections. |

Message | currently we are a fairly stable period where the cabinet does not change every election, or the balance of power. Thus current situation is not the normal. We are considering the time when the balance of power shifted every election. Radical new policies where adapted and just as they where getting off the ground a new election would come, a shift in balance, a new government policy which undoes the previous policy. This has occurred fairly often in Malivian history. |

Message | This is true, but we feel that political instability is preferable than leaving a coalition in power longer than the people want them to be in power. If a coalition cannot stay in power for more than two years, it tells us the people aren't satisfied with their performance, and the solution to that isn't to give citizens fewer opportunities to, as the LCP says, kick us up the arse. |

Message | unfortunately the short terms prevent any actual implementation of these policies. Take schooling for example since it has occurred in our past. If private schools where permitted under one government, and the next bans them, there will be a transition period as the public schools adapt to the new flow of students and the students adjust to the new schools. Or it may take time to build, organize these public schools. Plus there will be an increase in cost for the reorganization. All these factors can easily cause citizens to vote against the government because things didn't get better. However these are all short term blips and should not be used to judge a policy. This occurs in other policy changes as well. Two yrs is not enough to expect a policy's strength to show. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
