Bill: The Save The Dorvish Reindeer Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Common Sense and Decency Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2442
Description[?]:
Over the last two winters, the Dorvish Department of Interior's Wildlife Management branch estimates that over 10,000 of our beloved Dorvish Reindeer have died of starvation due to overpopulation. The Common Sense party, along with both national and local wildlife experts, has reviewed the designated hunting areas and periods and found that they are not sufficient to cull the population of local wildlife to offset rapid population growth. The resounding response we obtained from most local governments was that, since they were on more intimate terms with their local wildlife populations, they could better gauge the hunting pressure to apply to control animal populations. This bill proposes that we give the overworked and overextended Wildlife Management staffers relief and give local governments the chance to alleviate the suffering of starving herds. |

Message | I have no idea where this study came from, as it was certainly not sponsored by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In fact, I would contend that our own studies show that the centralization of hunting and fishing policies has lead to healthy wildlife populations and economic stability for hunters and fisheries. For this, I urge the Parties of Dorvik to vote against the decentralization legislation. Michael Allen Windsor, Minister of Internal Affairs |
Date | 16:31:58, August 12, 2007 CET | From | Supreme Party of the Republic | To | Debating the The Save The Dorvish Reindeer Bill |
Message | The Dorvish reindeer should have a federal program of fertility control. The undiscriminated hunting may take a have toll on the Dorvish reindeer population if a local government decides for the free hunting. For those reasons the National Union Party will vote no and ask the Parties of Dorvik to do the same. |
