Bill: Central Bank Abolishment Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Lodamun Autonomous Republican Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2442

Description[?]:

The Central Bank currently operated by the government is inflationary in its policies and does nothing but benefit those who are in a position to take advantage of its boom and bust cycle of economic growth; namely, a small minority of rich investors. We propose to abolish the bank to curb inflation and reduce government interference in the economy.

MessageWithout a central bank, we are subject to no restrictions on inflation or unemployment in times of economic crisis. Removing our source of monetary policy and regulation will only exacerbate the problems the LARP claims to solve with this bill. If anything, removing the central bank will result in a larger boom and bust cycle of economic growth.

MessageWe brought this up in the past and were voted down, it is interesting to see the swaying of the political waves.

MessageConsidering the NMF voted against the same bill several years ago, I believe it's safe to say that the central bank will stay as is for now.
