Bill: Changing the Name of Our Nation
Details
Submitted by[?]: CIVIL UNION
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2095
Description[?]:
It would be good if we change the name "Dolgarian Federation" into "Kingdom of Dolgaria". Two Reasons: 1) We are not a federation, but - according to our Constitution which I cite: "a unitary parliamentary democracy", cf. http://82.238.75.178:8085/particracy/main/viewconstitution.php?nationid=32 - thus the term "federalism" is an anomaly 2) Considering the change from republicanism to a Constitutional Monarchy, it would be logical to rename the country's name. When we reach a consensus, we can send it to this: http://www.takeforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71&mforum=particracy thread |

Message | How about changing it to 'Federated Kingdom of Dolgaria'. I don't believe that federalism is currently an option as a political system at the moment is it? |

Message | No, but, until that is the case, we are no federated state. As I said, the current name is constitutionally incorrect. |

Message | Ok, well I'll support this then I guess. |
Date | 19:25:43, August 12, 2005 CET | From | Neo-Liberal Party | To | Debating the Changing the Name of Our Nation |
Message | We didn't support the constitutional monarchy but as is rightly pointed out the current term is incorrect. |
Date | 19:36:46, August 13, 2005 CET | From | Dolgarian Imperial Revivalists | To | Debating the Changing the Name of Our Nation |
Message | Well this term is also incorrect, as the change to a monarchy is not going to be passed, so I shall withdraw my support for this bill |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
Random quote: "Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, and county commissioners." - Edward Abbey |
