| Message | MINISTRY OF FINANCE RE: Taxation Bill, April 2442. - Increase to foreign affairs budget in order to deploy extra diplomatic personnel in allied countries, and to cover possible costs of evacuation in the case of war. - Increase to internal affairs budget in order to fund extra police and to secure Jakania's borders, both with Deltaria and with other nations, in light of the current international tension and refugee situation. - Increase to finance ministry's budget to implement and enforce the higher taxes on luxuries and corporations. - Increase to defence budget in order to facilitate further mobilisation of ground, air and naval forces, and to purchase ammunition, fuel, et cetera. - Increase to infrastructure and transport department's budget in for extra roadworkers to make all roads in border areas suitable for the passage of heavy tanks, armoured cars, et cetera, and to take down road signs in case of foreign invasion. - Increase to health and social services budget to deal with influx of Deltarian refugees, and to build helipads at all large hospitals for military and civilian casualties. - Increase to environment and tourism budget to allow implementation of the recent Jakanian Environmental Act. - Increase to trade and industry budget to assist business while market supply and demand acclimatise to the new tax conditions. |

| Message | Regarding the criticism from the Social Religious Party: That's the default title it gives to the bill, and I forgot to change it to reflect the fact that this is an emergency tax bill, made to help the nation in event of a war. I have now changed the description to reflect the true thinking behind this bill. And regarding the UDJ's worries: In the event of an invasion, we'll put up as much as a fight as we can, and hope that a combination of international efforts and those of our close allies will allow us to hold out against the aggressors, but I'm sure our Defence Minister will have more of an idea. And even if we do end up occupied, the people of Jakania will almost definitely support a guerilla movement. |
