Voting deadline: January 2444
Description[?]:
We bring up the following considerations: 1) Our Founding Fathers had shown an explicit aversion to the idea of space exploration. The following document is cited to illustrate the point: "...and thusly it is assuredly made lucid for all present bodies and members, respectively, that Fears of an Object catapulted to Heights that may be considered vast and unprecedented hold sway and are neither withheld nor withdrawn. Henceforth, it is recommended that such Objects be Not propelled to such heights, due to the general Consensus that the Celestial Firmament is of questionable solidity and a collision may breach the aforementioned Heavenly Shell and allow for all Air and Breathable Gases to escape into the Heavenly Depths of Ever Tenebrous Night. Furthermore, as well-mannered, God-fearing men, who all bow to the power of Christ and all Incarnations of the Holy and Divine, we dare not transgress with a Folly of Launching Objects to Heights that are of too Great a Span (judged to be greater than exactly twenty two hundred times the stone's throw of Bellium Nottingrass Jestherah's mighty arm). We judge that such acts be not attempted in Order to Prove the Grand Experiment of Mister Thebediah Thratherton Jeholden Thane the Fourth in determining the Initial and Terminal Velocity of a Body of Two Pounds Stone Launched exactly twenty two hundred times the stone's throw of Bellium Nottingrass Jestherah's mighty arm and henceforth do bar and injunct the Said Party from Continuing such Experiments." 2) Holding that their fears of "all Air and Breathable Gases escaping" from a breach in our atmosphere has been proven scientifically false, we draw upon their second reason that includes a moral reason of the danger of incurring the wrath of God. 3) Failing that, we cite that the aforementioned document was a court case and by deferring to judicial precedent we must restrict the flight of all objects that would exit the Earth's stratosphere. This act aims to outlaw all space exploration as mandated by our Constitution. |
