Details
Submitted by[?]: Replicant Liberal Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2443
Description[?]:
The Replicant Liberal Party recommends a reevaluation and reform to laws regarding consumption of tobacco products, and the rights of tobacco users. Despite widespread knowledge and concerns over the the medical properties and effects of tobacco products, our quest for absolute human freedom demands us to consider the negative cultural effects created by limiting the peoples' choices and rights. It is the belief of the Replicant Liberal Party that current restrictions limiting where a person may smoke tobacco create an unfair stigma against those who choose to do so, and that any unvarified theories regarding health concerns do not out way the emotional damage caused to those looked down upon for their choice to smoke. Further, we believe that limiting the legal right to purchase tobacco products based on age does not prevent or limit underaged smoking, and instead increases youth criminal activity by forcing those under the current age limitation to steal. We hope you consider the following proposal, and wish you thanks. |
