| Given that we, as a nation, have a functioning and effective prison system; Given that we, as a society, value the application of justice over vengeance; Given that we, as a people, recognise the irrevocable value of human life; The United Majatran Republic of Socialist Al'Badara hereby renounces the use of capital punishment by any means and under any circumstances. |

| Message | The PM is in general against the idea of handing out capital punishment, and has therefore been extremely careful to instruct the judicial system to not hand it out easily. Capital punishment against acts of national terrorism, treason and crimes against mankind is necessary due to several historical facts, mainly to provide a ground to deal with the genocide conducted by the radical christian/jewish and non-arabic citizens against the Arabs. Make no mistake that the Civil War was caused after an intifada made by the Arabic population of Al'Badara since they were being slaughtered and raided by governmental fundamentalists. We are reluctant when it comes to supporting this bill due to those facts, but we are in general against the idea of capital punishment. |

If the PM is not satisfied that our existing prison system could adequately deal with these crimes, then perhaps the nation should examine further penal reform instead of defaulting to state executions? |

| Message | The PM would want to change a whole lot but the "choices" are rather limited so this is really the "next best thing". Our existing penal system is based on rehabilitating the very few who end up in social despair. Due to the high living standard and excessive freedom, our citizens have no real ground to commit "crimes". This law is merely a way of giving us an option to deal with enemies of the state. |
