Bill: Capitalism Renewal Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kanjoran People's Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2095
Description[?]:
The Kanjoran People's Party proposes the government no longer "own the commanding heights of the economy and all major industries". Rather, we propose the government "acts as an investor of last resort, by nationalizing failing industries that provide vital goods or services." This will allow a resurgence of capitalism and allow for more successful businesses to boost our economy in an organized and professional manner separate from the bundled government bureacracy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Government policy on industry and subsidies to industrial operations The state owns the commanding heights of the economy and all major industries, but private ownership is allowed in the minor industries. Alternatives: All industry is state-owned and operated. Strategic industries are owned by the state in order to ensure the public good; all other industries are under private ownership. The government acts as an investor of last resort, by nationalizing failing industries that provide vital goods or services. The government subsidizes private enterprises that face bankruptcy. The government does not intervene in the market nor provide any form of subsidies/relief to industries. The commanding heights of the economy and major industry are owned and controlled by democratic workers councils. Private ownership is allowed in the minor industries. All industry is owned and controlled by democratic workers councils. |

Message | No. We strongly oppose this bill and we find that the current option is one of the best available. It doesn't prevent next corner's greengrocer from earning a living with his own businnes while assuring that all major goods and services have a just price (and it helps funding the government too). |

Message | I ask you to wait a few game years so that the economy section will start working. Then we will see if the current system is crumpling our economy, or if it's working fine making everybody happy. |

Message | Well, I'm not saying it's crumpling our economy. Rather, I'm suggesting we move towards a more capitalistic society. Both might be able to work but I prefer the latter. |

Message | I agree with the Kanjoran Peoples Party. The current set-up is little short of Communism and we must move towards Capitalism. I think the real issue here with the SHP is that they are socialist and they get more support when the country is poor and socialist. |
