Message | When public officials are performing their duties, they're acting as agents of the state. If they were religious symbols during the performance of those duties, it creates the impression that the state has endorsed their religion. This law doesn't prohibit state officials from wearing religious symbols when off duty. It doesn't bar them from going to church, mosque, or synagogue. It just says "keep your religion in your private life if you're a public official." |

Message | The title to this bill is deceptive. Nice try to oppress religious freedom, yet again, DR. |
Date | 02:42:28, August 23, 2007 CET | From | Industrialist Party of Aloria | To | Debating the Bill to Increase Religious Freedom |
Message | Seeing the suppressing of freedom here makes most of our members sick to their stomachs. How can you dictate what someone wears? Can't you just let people live their lives like they want to? Why must you enforce a dress code like schools do to children? |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
