Message | "Cutting taxes on the rich by raising taxes on the poor. . .why am I not surprised." 40,000 KRB a year is poor? This flat tax is loosely based on Milton Friedman's negative income tax: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_income_tax. Anyone making less than 40,000 KRB pays no taxes. As to the legality of my proposal, I don\'t think it matters, S-Club hasn't voted lately and it needs 375+ to pass. However, I think the law should be revised to allow anyone to bring up legislation regarding taxes and budgets. |

Message | Let' s take those in reverse order. 1) There is a quirk in the game rule that allows anyone to bring up a tax budget rule, when it's supposed to be the Minister of Finance with that ability. We took a vote and decided that we would have it the way it's actually origionally intended to be. If you want to change it, bring it up as an amendment. (IT's not listed anywhere. Just do an RP bill post saying what you're doing, then we vote on it.) Okay, I just checked, and 40,000 is actually the highest bracket. So, I did misread your origional intent. I thought you simply wanted to cut taxes on the rich and balance it by raising taxes on the poor. In actuality, you want to cut 1.049 trillion KRU from the budget, more than 90% of the entire operating budget of government. So what you actually want to do is to implement the tax, and then gut everything in government (let me guess , except for the military and the parts that assist corporate interests.) So you were planning to let the poor suffer and die homeless, cold and hungry on the streets after kicking them out the back door, rather than the front door. |

Message | > 40,000 KRB 15% 1,073,323,000,000 KRB Anyone making over 40,000 KRB has to pay a 15% flat tax equaling 1,073,323,000,000 KRB in taxes, 23 billion more than the current tax system provides. The current system provides 1,050,620,000,000 KRB. My original intent was to provide a more fair tax system. To get rid of the old system which unduly punishes the rich with around a 40% tax rate. That high of tax is absurd. |
