Bill: Axis Mundi Sturm und Drang Partei Manifesto - Democratic Representation
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.
Voting deadline: October 2446
Description[?]:
There appears to be some disagreement over how truly representative the current climate of the Likatonian Convocation might be. Given these concerns, and the lack of agreement between 'elected seats' and currently represented parties - we, the Axis Mundi Sturm und Drang Partei, call for early elections as soon as we can reach a consensus. |
Proposals
Article 1
Arrange early elections as soon as this bill passes.

Message | We think that the foundation of new parties isn't necessarily a cause to dissolve convocation and hold re-elections. OOC:You might be a player who acquired great merit in Likatonia (and the same guy who played LFF, or aren't you?), but is it really that terrible for you to wait until the next elections will be held anyway? |
Date | 17:06:48, August 23, 2007 CET | From | Likaton Coalition of the Willing | To | Debating the Axis Mundi Sturm und Drang Partei Manifesto - Democratic Representation |
Message | The AMPfS will respect the decision of the electorate, should they be allowed to speak. (OOC: AMSuD are most definitely not the LFF, and a call for elections has probably been made 'in character', despite the fact that it may prove to strengthen the Ars Moriendi position rather than any Axis Mundi faction) |

Message | We are not actually addressing new parties at all. We noted the absence of the long established LFF, we noticed claims that there was something 'illegitimate' about the current consturction of the convocation... and we noticed the resurgence into the public eye of our own Sturm und Drang Partei. The Axis Mundi Sturm und Drang Partei has always been (in whichever incarnation) very much a People's party. We believe that the people should not be held to the current arrangement of the Convocation when it is so unrepresentative of the political climate. OOC: The Sturm und Drang Partei don't actually have a platform established yet... I would gain greater advantage from waiting for 'natural' elections. However, I have played this as a (variant on a) populist party (variant because - sometimes the populace don't know what they want until we tell them..) and a strong appeal for emergency Interim elections would be very much in character. Also - I just want to see where the chips fall - it will give an idea of the current political climate. Oh, and - as the AM PfS pointed out, I'm not the LFF. :-) |
