Bill: Tax Reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvish Popular Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2095

Description[?]:

As we currently have a surplus, we feel it would be a appropriate to reduce taxes. We feel reducing corporate tax from 20% to 18% will have a great effect on the businesses of Dorvik and make it an easier place to do business. With the increase in corporations and business we should see more jobs created, so further down the line we can reduce income tax. This will lose the treasury approximatley 5 billion DDO, but we have a surplus of 8 billion DDO.

MessageWe feel that it is more important to cut the income tax than the corporation tax. We believe that the corporate profit tax should be equal to the highest individual income tax bracket, since corporations do make enough money to be in the highest tax bracket, if they were individuals.

Cut the individual income tax and the size of the government first, then talk about cutting the corporate tax.

MessageCorporations should not be classed as people because they are not people! We must cut this tax to promote the growth of the economy, more jobs and higher wages. Then we can cut sales or income tax to benefit the citizen. We should deal with the corporations first, to enable us to stimulate the economy and make further tax cuts and cutting the size of govt possible.

MessageCorporations can sue and be sued, and are subject to the same laws of due process as ordinary individuals.

Cutting the individual income tax on the rich and upper middle class (currently 30%) would allow them to reinvest that money into the economy, and achieve just as great of a result as cutting the taxes on corporations, and which much greater equitability and benefit to the middle class, I might add.

MessageSo what if they can sue or be sued? The fact is that corporations are not people! Corporations can be manipulted by the government to grow and that is what the purpose of this bill is.

We agree, but my party is not in charge of the Economic Ministry and so we have no control over this. Furthermore, they would be not be guaranteed to reinvest. This is only a first stage, in a allowing the corporations, and as such, the economy to flourish and then we can cut back on income tax.

MessageIf corporations enjoy the same rights as people, they should have the same responsibilities.
