MessageDemocracy Now! would like to make it clear that personal vendettas have no played into this decision (well, only about 3% of it). Recent events have called attention to the CNF's unwillingness to work alongside Non-Conservative Non-Christian parties. The CNF wishes to create a Christian state, despite being the minority, and seeks to eliminate basic freedoms in Al'Badara. As a result of this lack of respect for traditions, social responsibilites and basic human dignity we at Democracy Now! believe they should be removed from holding Ministry positions.

Come next election if the Feathercreek's, Progressives, and the AAP gain seats in the enlarged Grand Majelis they shall be welcomed fully into the cabinet. Also, should the Peoples Mujaheddin wish to join it may. (Reasons for exempting the PM from this proposal can be found in past bills). Whilst the PM has often disagreed with DN! it has still been somewhat loyal to democracy and the basic tenants of debate and civility.

MessageThe PM will support this bill for the need to maintain a stable cabinet. Political differences a side, the PM believes Al'Badara's executive branch should not host a front for Christian fundamentalists.

As previously known, the PM will refuse to work in coalitions with non-socialist elements and will for such stated reasons oppose these coalitions. This one-time-exception is special.

MessageIf such high profile cabinet members resigned, a general election should have been called.

MessageI don't think the Christian Nationalist Front's argument has any less validity than the Freedom Party, although the partnership often disagrees with them both. Unequal representation is never a good thing. Al'Badara must not fall to a dictatorship by majority.

With truly equal representation, something like this would be put in place:
DN!: 4.0625
PM: 3.4125
FP: 2.6
CNF: 2.1125
UNP: 0.8125
13 total positions

Rounded:
DN!: 4
PM: 3
FP: 3
CNF: 2
UNP: 1
13 total positions

MessageWe believe that if neither the UNP or FP agree to become part of the cabinet that an election is called immediately.

MessageDemocracy Now! in no way wants a Dictatorship. Firstly that is against all our ideas. Secondly, we'd have to change a lot of our signs and posters, and that isn't cheap.

What we're doing is simply not allowing known oppressors into the cabinet. The Freedom Party is a staunchly conservative capitalist party, true, but they are prone to debates and do not throw about homophobic slurs and seek the elimination those who aren't like them.

While we do greatly respect the FEP we must plead with them to understand the circumstances. With the bills they call for now, it's unfathomable what they could call for or enact whilst under the power of a Ministry position.

True, we are in favor of democracy, but allowing strict Non-Democratic parties into institutions that ARE democractic seems foolish. If they have such disrespect for Democracy and the people aside from themselves they should not represent an entire section of Al'Badara's well-being.

MessageI'm sorry, but we steadfastly believe that if a certain group people voted for the Christian Nationalist Front, those people should have the representation that they deserve. These are the very principles of democracy. And while the CNF may be very restrictive, it's a bit of a stretch to call them "Non-Democratic." My proposed system is very fair to all involved.

Some further examples of poor judgment are the skeptics controlling the Science and Technology as well as Environment and Tourism categories. It also doesn't help to have Defense conducted by a isolationist militarist. In the partnership's opinion, this cabinet proposal is not even close to ready.

[Just to clear things up in my head, the cabinet doesn't do anything, right?]

MessageFine. You're complaints have been noted and respected.

[In terms of RP Ministry positions can be pulled, though it doesn't seem to be done much in Al'Badara. Some ministries can do things that change the nation (Finance can change taxation and spending, Foreign and Government Head can issue press releases). But mostly it's just RP. Justice, Internal and Defense ministries are important in the United Majahtran congress once that gets going, Foreign Minister is mostly just RPed on the forums and between nations. The other positions, like Food and Technology etc, the "lesser" positions don't really ever come into play]

MessageA very surprising move by DN. I am sure they are enjoying the power the head of state has, which was proposed by FP for cabinet decisions to be made simple.
We do see the CNF as a possible ally. However we dislike their homophobic slur and their wish to elminate entire groups. We will vote yes for the sake of stable government but after the next election we will reassess our position within the current DN-UNP-FP alliance.

MessageDN! isn't allied with the UNP and our relations are cordial with the FP. We do no like the ideas of "alliances", we judge based on Democracy and the needs of Al'Badara. If the FP creates a bill we agree with we shall vote as such, the same goes for the CNF. However, the CNF has yet to enact any bills that we, not only as Democrats, but as Sensible Human Beings, can agree with.

Alliances get in the way of democracy. DN!, while it does enjoy the powers of Head of State has been ardent to avoid making itself overly powerful, especially in the cabinet. All cabinet proposals DN! have issued make it so DN! holds few seats compared to the FP or the PM.

We are not becoming corrupt with power. We are making it so those who seek to corrupt their power are not allowed to do so.

We would prefer an FP-PM-FEP-PSP-DN-CNF-UNP-AAP alliance.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
