Bill: Involuntary Information Act II
Details
Submitted by[?]: Nihilist Fascist Collegiality
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2095
Description[?]:
The Nihilist Fascist Collegiality believes strongly in the preservation and security of society at large. If torturing a known terrorist saves thousands of people the next day from a bomb blast, I count that torture as necessary. The purpose of a government is to protect and serve the people they represent - not to allow terrorists to bomb them. Think of the World Trade Center incident a few years ago in the United States. Perhaps if we had been allowed to extract information from caught terrorists, it never would have happened, and thousands of husbands, fathers, and wives would still be alive today. Each of them had a name, a family, a life, a story. Those stories were cut short abruptly. To exchange a little bit of freedom for a lot of security is a trade I feel is worthwhile to make. |
Proposals
