Bill: Human Cloning Ban

Details

Submitted by[?]: National Orthodox Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2447

Description[?]:

Lourenne's failure to regulate and restrict controversial and morally ambiguous experimentation on human life remains a black mark on our nation's reputation. We should not allow Lourenne to become a bastion for companies that seek to work outside the laws and norms maintained by other civilized nations. Keep in mind, this does not restrict research on animals. The purpose of this bill is simply to prevent unscrupulous scientists from experimenting on human beings who do not have the capacity to consent to their participation and its potential ramifications.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).

Random quote: "Religion, like capitalism, will perish in the end. We estimate the complete Terra-wide extinction of Hosianism as a religious belief by the year 4409, and in Dorvik by 4398." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
