Bill: Likatonian Defense Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Ordo Inordatum
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2448
Description[?]:
With the recent theft of power by certain factions, a dark cloud looms over our nation's future. Now, more than ever before, we must not let our strengths and defenses falter. We must strive to eradicate superstition, sedition, disease, and weakness from our fair land. We must protect our way of life from the dangerous meddling of usurpers and thieves, both foreign and domestic. Why should we provide arms to traitors? Why should the working man have to pay for the comfort of vagrants, or even worse, enemy combatants? Why should we allow foreign powers to establish bases of operation within our borders? Note: By saying that citizens must be subjected to religious tests before being allowed to serve in the military, the "certain religion" of course means "no religion". Superstitious traitors shall fall before our military, not be allowed to serve in it. |

Message | We dislike Article Four - but we accept the specification made by the Ordo in their opening language. We cannot happily stomach Articles Five, Six or Seven - but are willing to support them for the good of the balance of the bill. Should this legislation pass, we shall just have to attempt to overturn those elements. |
