Bill: Efficientcy Meets Fair Strike Laws
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberty Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2448
Description[?]:
According to the Liberty Party's policy, the state would set standards for employers to follow, but don't have to. Those that won't may soon have a striking workforce on their hands. If the state deemed that the workers demands were unreasonable, they could either get back to work, or be fired, with the company most likely going under. If the state checked it's industrial health and safety standards and saw that this workplace didn't meet them, the state could not morally allow the employer to fire the striking workforce. Perhaps in the future a more radical approach could be taken, allowing the employer full autonomy over their workers, but the Liberty Party hopes that their fellow Libertarians will agree that a transitional period of state intervention, where deemed necessary, is needed, until private individuals learn the value of fairness. Going straight from the restrictive measures taken by the preceding union puppet governments to a absolute Libertarian policy may result in a sharp rise in dismissals, which would lead to high temporary unemployment and thousands of businesses going under. |

Message | We will have to vote against this proposal, as we believe a neutral court would be better suited to handling these disputes thatn a partisan government |
Date | 08:02:07, August 29, 2007 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the Efficientcy Meets Fair Strike Laws |
Message | The need for a court isn't necessary if the state adopts clear standards they'd support, and won't allow any worker to be fired whilst on strike under conditions worse then those adopted by the state. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
