Bill: MDP suggested adjustments
Details
Submitted by[?]: Moderate Party of The Free Republic
Status[?]: defeated

Voting deadline: February 2449
Description[?]:
This is a list of suggestions that can be adjusted depending on public opinion and logical reasoning. Article 1 mainly benefits the army itself, those career soldiers who make a living from fighting in wars or peacekeeping do not want a spotty teenager from university slowing the gears of war down. All in all in this day and age of surgical precision in war we do not need to clog the ranks with unwilling amateurs putting operations at risk. Article 2 allows the nation of Dorvik to look at space exploration from a number of angles, which is naturally the best way to approach something, while keeping a government hand on precedings. Article 3 suggests that a way forward in terms of the economy could be achieved by dealing weapons to close allies thus greatly benefiting the economy yet not providing any major risk to the security of our great nation. b |

Message | The Technocratic Nationalist Party will support articles three and four, but not articles one and two. We are intrigued by article three; why the sudden change of heart? |

Message | The TNP originally suggested licensed space agencies but this article is proposing various privatized branches (of a sort) of the national space agency that would mean we wouldn't necessarily have to spend alot of money on wages and the like, but would also allow the benefits of a larger team. I also feel that as a member of your Extrasolar expansion initiative i should try and progress the aims of the society. Also why do you disagree with articles 1 & 2 your reasoning would help a great deal. |

Message | We understand, and even agree with the MPD's rationale behind article two. However, we are against it due to the obvious fact that it would reduce the amount of soldiers we could mobilize at any one time. Simply put, we could deploy the entirety of our volunteer forces while the conscripts stay at home to guard ammo dumps and the like, at least in theory. As for article one, we feel that continued research in these fields can possibly result in more effective devices that do not result in the agonizing deaths commonly associated with weapons of this sort. While the concept of a "humane" biological or chemical weapon may be considered by many as ludicrous or even offensive, the ability to essentially euthanize an opposing armed force en masse should be considered as an option, if obtaining victory on the battlefield is somehow impossible by conventional means. Of course, we absolutely do not wish to see any of these weapons used in any real conflict; however, who knows what threats Dorvik may face tomorrow? |

Message | We agree with the TNP articles 1 & 2 however, when we proposed the Nactional Security Act we stated clearly that we would never use the biological or chemical weapons for military purposes. We are not fully convinced about the benefits of article 3. I would like to ask our Foreign Minister to give us a light about who are our close allies but we think its a great idea to help our allies in need. |

Message | Researching the technology is permitted by the National Security Act, though production or usage of any weapons is not. |

Message | fair enough, article 1 will be removed as i would want this bill to pass and have no desire to let its 'lesser' points fail. |
