Bill: Welfare Equality Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Orthodox Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2448
Description[?]:
It is clear that in times of international crisis, Lourenne may have to accept refugees within our borders, but this moral imperative does not justify either encouraging refugees to come to us specifically or granting them privileges that our own citizens do not have access to. Lourenne already provides substantial benefits to the destitute, and as of now, Parliament is expected to pass funding for the creation of state-run, low-income housing. We simply do not see why refugees should be given additional benefit, many of our own citizens are born with 'nothing' too. I, for one, have heard enough of 'political refugees' coming to Lourenne, spending their 'integration aid' on gambling and liquor, then spending the rest of their lives feeding off the poverty aid that was intended for OUR CITIZENS.
