| At present, third trimester abortions cannot be performed for any reason, even in times of medical emergency, and we propose to amend the law so that abortions can take place in the third trimester, in case of a medical emergency., where the life of the mother is in danger. Two doctors must attest that the situation is a medical emergency, and warrants consideration of an abortion for the abortion to be legal. |

What we are proposing is allowing women to have abortions during the third trimester when their lives are in danger, something that is not possible right now. Steps should be taken to save both lives, but if an abortion is required to keep the mother alive, then the law should allow it.
